Arklow Studio Painting - acrylic on ply

€550.00

45.5 x 30.5 cm

acrylic on ply

Two oxygen bottles and a Nitrogen bottle standing next to each other, and the perennial naked lady calendar in the background. Even though the calendar is 20 years out of date; the workers never took it down. Not even noticed anymore I’m sure. It is a record of a workers station.

I stood working at that station for 2 years and that’s what the space was like. The detail is incredible. You can see the number of carbon dioxide fills have come from the bottle. We were filling fire extinguishers. I painted it in 2002 just before I went to art school. Rejected by the RHA.
