The study of The Colour Red is analysed in an article by Marina Gerner 2013 siting philosopher Owen Flanagan (amongst others) philosopher, Owen Flanagan, plunges straight into human biology and argues that the phenomenal state of seeing red is a physical event and that an individual seeing red undergoes ‘red-channel activation’. In order to be able to undergo red-channel activation, a causal interchange between the person and an external red object is needed. In other words, the individual needs to be hooked up with a red thing so that experience of seeing red can be triggered. So phenomenal states of seeing red are physical events because they require red-channel activation. (Marina Gerner 2013)

I stretch my own canvas using canvas or linen. Usually in multiples for a series of work.
I work with acrylics and oils. When using Acrylic paint I like to mix the pigment with a carrier solution to determine the intensity of the colour. When working with oils I usually work slowly with multiple layers, adding and subtracting elements to the work. A series of work develops around a central theme, working from my sketches and my photograph research.

Andrew Attracta Sarah Manson.jpg

A family of professional artists: Mum - Attracta, Dad - Andrew & Daughter - Sarah. Each with their own ambitions, areas of expertise and experiences. This group has many years of experience both in the private and public areas of practice, and each has a Bachelor's Degree in their respective fields. They have a consistent, friendly, competitive bond within the Art World, but ultimately nourish and support each other. It is always a pleasure when they are able to come together to show their newest works. Ballyrogan House is a 500-year-old farmhouse in Co. Wicklow; it contains outbuildings that were developed into a dwelling house with several studios and living quarters. Ballyrogan House has been developed from its foundation into an ongoing art process where the core has been architecturally and artistically established. From this, Ballyrogan Artists has evolved as a collaboration of a range of different disciplinary based artistic people whose backgrounds range across music, literature and visual art. Founded in 1979 by artist Andrew Manson who bought the site, Ballyrogan House evolved organically as an artist based collective from 1981, when a group of artists came together to produce works of art and help construct Ballyrogan House as a habitable space.
